About Stud Finder Fit

The current English model library contains 123 individually assessed configurations, drawn from 186 observed entries across 16 recorded U.S. manufacturer and source-route records. It includes current and earlier references across the recorded maker families. This is a finite, source-bounded library, not a census of every U.S. brand, historical product or retailer listing. An unreviewed item is not an implied exclusion, and absence from this library does not show that a product does not exist.

How an assessment is built

Each assessment separates the observed model and package from nearby versions, then checks applicable manufacturer material and operating instructions for detection targets, supported surfaces, documented depth, controls and warnings. Unknown fields stay unknown rather than being borrowed from a sibling product. The finder uses only choices tied to those reviewed facts.

What these assessments do not claim

These are desk assessments of product records and primary-source documents. No model in this library was bought, owned, measured or hands-on tested by the author. The assessments make no promise about price, stock, popularity or performance on a particular wall.

How choices and purchase links work

A finder result is a documented fit screen, not a guarantee that a product will work in a particular wall or make a drilling location safe. Review purchase actions lead to fixed, substantial BuyerShortlists pages, not directly to Amazon. Only if a visitor actively selects the labeled retailer link there does that page open Amazon with the configured affiliate tag. The source finder can carry selected answers in a browser fragment for a return visit; those answers are not sent to Amazon and do not prove compatibility.

Reading a result safely

A finder can respond to a density change without identifying an object. A live-wire meter is not a cable locator or safety clearance. Follow the exact manual, confirm a candidate by repeat scans, and shut off utilities before penetrating a wall.
